Airgas Mid South, Inc., the leading distributor of industrial, medical, and specialty gases and related products is currently seeking a Bulk Driver to join our team in Hutchinson , KS .

SUMMARY

Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Other duties may be assigned.
• Drives truck to destination and operates equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse cargo or materials.
• Prepares customer's delivery ticket specific to the product delivered and obtains customer signature
• Keeps record of materials and products transported.
• May collect payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges.
• Maintains records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, and shipping manifests according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
• Reads maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
• May perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, etc.
• Secures cargo prior to and during transit.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Has never been disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle according to the provisions of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, §391.15

• Must be 22 years of age upon graduation of truck driving school, or 23 years of age after 1 year of commercial driving experience.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 2 years Class A driving experience with 1 year of Tanker driving experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must possess valid class A Commercial Driver License with Hazardous Material and Tanker endorsements.
