Dues Policy:
Categories of Membership
Massachusetts Domiciled Carriers are those motor carriers whose
corporate headquarters are located in Massachusetts. The dues are
computed based on the gross revenue of the company, please see
attached dues computation form.
Private Carriers are those who operate dedicated fleets of vehicles transporting their own goods such as dairy and newspaper distribution. Dues are calculated using a base of $169.00 and adding an additional $25.00 per power unit up to the maximum of $2,900.00.
Associate Membership are material and equipment suppliers of goods and services to the transportation industry. Manufacturers, Insurance Companies, Dealers/Suppliers/Distributors, and Truck/Trailer/Leasing Companies are appropriate for this classification. Associate members pay $500.00 annually.
Non-Domiciled Carriers are those whose corporate headquarters
are located outside the state of Massachusetts. The dues are
figured based on miles traveled in Massachusetts, please see
attached computation form.
Please refer to the MMTA Dues Schedule to determine the dues for
the category in which you fall.
Dues Payment
Membership dues are due when you submit your membership
application. Dues will be paid annually thereafter. The calendar
year in which you will be billed will run January 1 through
December 31. You will receive an invoice sixty days in advance of
your renewal due date (January 1). After sixty days you will
receive a reminder invoice and after ninety days you will be
suspended from membership and any member benefits you are
receiving.
If you join as a new member, dues are prorated as follows: 1/1 -
3/31 = 100%; 4/1-6/30 = 75%; 7/1-9/30 = 50%; after 10/1 = 100%
(credited to the following year). This special new member incentive
program is only available to companies who have not been a member
for more than the previous full dues year.
