Safety, Just Another Way to Tango!

Ivan Buckner, Director of Safety at Tango Transport, Inc. was busy for the latter part of October. He has been giving out safety awards to the numerous drivers that earned them over the past year. “We always enjoy recognizing our drivers for making runs in a timely manner while staying in accordance with State and Federal regulations”, says Buckner.

For Buckner, the travel started in Sibley, LA where an award ceremony and cook out was held for all the winners. Chairman of the Board, Robert E. Gorman personally presented the awards while President and CEO, B.J. Gorman was on hand to show his appreciation to the drivers. From there, Buckner and the Gormans took the ceremony and cook out to West Memphis, AR and finally Granite City, IL.

The three ceremonies represented over 57 million miles of safe driving this year for Tango Transport, Inc. The prizes that were given out truly showed Tango’s appreciation for their drivers. Prizes were based on the length of time with safe miles. First year winners received a handsome belt buckle; second year, a leather tote bag; third year, a bomber jacket; fourth year, a Swiss Army watch; and fifth year, a gold ring. The individuals with 5 to 10 years of safe driving service added a diamond to their ring for each safe year. “In all, it was a great experience and I can’t wait till next year to see how many drivers we get to present with awards,” says Buckner.
