Brian Lunsford began the lease purchase program at Texas Star Express in August of 2001. He is one of six drivers that have officially completed the program December 2003. Brian purchased a 1998 Freightliner Century Class, with $1,000.00 down; he entered the 28 month lease, and had a one dollar buy out at the end. Lunsford comments that the easiest part of the program was “working for Texas Star Express and the sincere backing I received from the company.”
The most difficult part of making the transition from company driver to owner operator for Lunsford was simply learning to “prepare for the unexpected”. Brian is a true Texan born and raised; he grew up outside of Rockwall where Texas Star Express is headquartered.
