Sitton Motor Lines Public Education Program Recognized

Sitton Motor Lines recently received the Missouri Statewide Highway Safety Leadership Award for the company’s dedication to the public safety education “Share the Road” program. The program focuses on the irreversible consequences of inattentive and impaired driving.

“We are very pleased that the Share the Road program was recognized,” said Bill Housley, Director of Driver Recruiting and Personnel. “All of us at Sitton Motor Lines feel that this and programs like it are the key to lowering the number of accidents and deaths on the roadway.”

The award was given November 29 as part of the first Highway Safety Awards at the Blueprint for Safer Roadways Conference in St. Louis. Winners from across the state were nominated and judged by members of the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety.

“There are so many people in Missouri doing great things to decrease the number of people who die on our roads,” said Leanna Depue, the coalition’s executive committee chair. “These people and many more deserve awards. But the best reward for all of us is that traffic deaths are down so far this year.”

Based out of Joplin, Mo., Sitton Motor Lines serves as an irregular route common and contract carrier throughout the United States. To learn more about the company or their public education program, including the Share the Road program, call 1-800-533-4765
