FFE: A Friendly Environment for Anthony Pagio

Taking the advice of his friend, lease operator Anthony Pagio has never regretted his decision to sign on with FFE, praising its friendly and dedicated environment, as he renews his second successful lease with the company. Even though the native New Yorker said that for many years he wouldn’t drive a reefer, he said he loves being at FFE and has been in FFE’s Clean Slate Lease Program for four years of his seventeen-year driving career.

“It’s pretty much the same as hauling a dry box, except it makes a little more noise,” he said. “But you get used to that pretty quick.”

After serving in the Marines for three years, Pagio looked to follow in the footsteps of his father, who had been a truck driver for 36 years.

“One of my main reasons to be a truck driver was to be able to travel and make money at the same time,” Pagio said. With an amiable laugh, he added that his choices were “either trucking or becoming an airline pilot.”

But with the friendly people at FFE, Pagio said he has no complaints.

“FFE backs up their drivers,” he said. “I have a lot of flexibility on making decisions about picking certain loads, so I pretty much stay busy with them.”

He still finds time to spend with his family in Florida and his friends down in Texas, leading an active life of bowling, boating and water-skiing. Pagio said the same friend who introduced him to FFE is also the person getting him involved in motorcycling.

In addition to the friendly staff at FFE, Pagio said he never feels ignored there because the people do everything they can to help drivers out.

“If I have a problem, like a mechanical problem with the truck or maybe a problem with a certain load, FFE does what it can to make it right for me,” Pagio said. “They’re good people to work with, and that’s a key factor to me in working with any trucking company.”
