DANNY O’QUINN, JR. HAS A DISAPPOINTING NIGHT AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

Danny O’Quinn, Jr. and the No. 50 World Financial Group and Associate Sponsored Barr-Nunn Transportation Ford Fusion

FORT WORTH, TX (November 4, 2006) – After two consecutive weekends of top-ten finishes in both Charlotte and Memphis Danny O’Quinn, Jr. and the No. 50 World Financial Group and Associate Sponsored Barr-Nunn team came to Texas with plans to continue their streak of success.

After struggling with the setup through the three practice sessions on Friday and qualifying 39th on Friday night for Saturday’s event things were not looking up for the team.

The green flag dropped for the start of the O’Reilly Challenge at 1:00pm CDT. O’Quinn, Jr. gained a few spots right off the bat, but struggled to make up any more ground with a loose race car. Caution number one came out on lap five so the No. 50 World Financial Group and Associate Sponsored Barr-Nunn Ford came down pit road for a track bar adjustment and to top off the fuel cell.

Less than fifteen laps later the car was still too loose for O’Quinn, Jr. and with the next caution came his next pit stop. This time he took four tires, fuel and an air pressure adjustment in addition to another round down in the track bar.

This stop put O’Quinn, Jr. back out in 33rd position on the 33rd lap of the race.
By lap 60 the No. 50 car was one lap down and struggling to be the lucky dog in order to get back on the lead lap. Unfortunately, O’Quinn, Jr. never was able to get back on the lead lap.

After making several more adjustments to the car during the next two stops, one being a green flag stop on lap 80, O’Quinn, Jr. was still running back in 31st position and was then two laps down.

The team made the final stop of the day on lap 144 for tires and fuel and sent the No. 50 machine back out on the track with their fingers crossed.

O’Quinn, Jr. finished out the day in 30th position and three laps down.

“Today was definitely a disappointment for us,” said O’Quinn, Jr. “It seems like no matter what we did the car was just never right. Everybody runs wide open here and when the car is as loose as ours was today it makes it really difficult to do that. We have two more races before the season is over and I do not plan on having anymore like this one.”
