Maverick Transportation, Inc. Announces Biggest Pay Raise in History
Maintaining their history of industry leadership, Maverick Transportation, Inc. announced the biggest pay raise in company history for current and potential drivers, effective January 4th, 2004. “We believe it’s time to recognize the best drivers in the industry with an increase in pay,” said Stephen Selig, President and COO.
With this new plan, Maverick will offer starting pay up to 36 cents per mile for drivers in the company’s long haul fleet and up to 35 cents per mile in it’s regional fleets. Some divisions will receive as much as a 4-cent per mile increase. “Our goal is to offer the best driver compensation plan in the flatbed business,” commented Selig.
Along with this increase in starting pay, Maverick will also implement a per diem pay option of .08 cents per mile. “Per Diem pay reduces a driver’s taxable wage base and they ultimately pay less in taxes,” said Debbie Mitchell, Vice President of Finance. Maverick will continue to offer quarterly fuel bonus opportunities, tarp pay, detention pay, referral bonus, weekend home time, and complete medical benefits.
Based in Little Rock, Arkansas and operating 875 units, Maverick provides flatbed services to the steel and building material industries coast-to-coast. The company has a variety of driving opportunities available for over-the-road drivers.
