MISSISSIPPI GOVERNOR DECLARES OCTOBER 13TH “KLLM DRIVER DAY” AS THE COMPANY CELEBRATES 2007 FAMILY DAY

RICHLAND, Miss. (26 October 2007) – On October 13, 2007, Governor of the State of Mississippi, Haley Barbour, issued a proclamation declaring the day “KLLM Driver Day.” The proclamation was part of the company’s annual Family Day celebration and also helped to honor three
exceptional KLLM drivers.

As part of the festivities, drivers Bill Fambro, Steve Jones and Tim Gillette were presented with framed letters from Governor Barbour, honoring their accomplishments in the Mississippi Truck Driving Championships earlier this year. All three drivers placed first in their respective categories and advanced to the national competition.

KLLM’s Family Day is an annual event that brings together all KLLM employees and drivers, as well as their families, for food, fellowship and fun. It takes place on the grounds of KLLM’s main terminal in Richland.

Family Day always includes lots of entertainment for the children of KLLM, and this year was no exception. There was face painting, a super-sized jumpy slide, Inky the Clown, a MoonWalk and contests with prizes.

Aside from the governor’s contributions, the main event was the Employee Olympics, where different departments compete against one another for a year’s bragging rights. Despite an animated entrance by the 2006 champions, the maintenance department turned in a stellar performance taking
home the coveted first place honors. Close to 1200 people joined in the festivities for 2007.
