Brown’s Great Week of Winning!

On Wednesday October 8th, there were numerous amounts of new inductees in to the U.S. Xpress Million Miler club. One of these individuals, Dale Brown, had a very unique experience while winning this special award. Dale, out of Lincoln, Nebraska, has been a professional driver for a great deal of time and has driven with U.S. Xpress for almost 11 years. He described the experience as special and very awesome! The unique aspect of Brown’s story is that preceding his inauguration into the Million Miler Club, he won a brand new Volvo at the Great American Truck Show, in Dallas, TX.

“I tried turning the key and saw it was backwards, when I got it the right way, the key went in, the engine turned on, balloons fell out of the ceiling and lights started blinking all around”, described Brown about winning the Volvo. He still can’t believe it all started with a routine stop into a Petro for fuel, where he filled out an entry card. “I’ve never won anything in my life”, Brown exclaimed.

The type of truck that he won was a 2004 Volvo 780. “Being an independent contractor for U.S. Xpress and having a paid off truck is a great feeling”, said Brown. He attributes a lot of his success and luck to undying patience. He commented on this by saying, “you can’t have everything quickly, just be patient and great things can happen.”
