Trucking have signed on to TRANSFLO ExpressSM, Pegasus TransTech’s truck
stop scanning service.
PTL selected TRANSFLO Express for the service's ability to improve business performance and give drivers more control of the document delivery process. Chuck Wilson, PTL's Vice President of Finance, said TRANSLFO Express' history of performance for other leading fleets was instrumental in his company's decision to implement the truck stop scanning service.
"Besides conducting our own extensive evaluation, we called a colleague at one of the industry's best-known and best-performing fleets because we knew they were using the service. They were clearly sold on the value of TRANSFLO Express. After that, there was never a doubt in our minds about whether TRANSFLO Express would work for PTL," Wilson explained.
Tom Stephens, PTL's Executive Vice President, said the service has already netted back office improvements for his company.
"The staff checking our Bills of Lading are a lot happier now," Stephens said. "The workflow is laid out better and the timing of the paperwork is much more even. We've also seen a reduction in the amount of time Customer Service spends chasing around for BOLs, and hope to see that go away entirely. Our biggest back-office impact will be the elimination of time spent on lost or unsigned BOLs."
Reliability, Quick Implementation Key at PGT
PGT Trucking implemented TRANSFLO Express in August in an effort to provide
drivers with a more reliable means of getting their trip documents to PGT's
home office.
"The most important thing to us was to provide a document service to our drivers that was more dependable and reliable," said Tom Romick, Controller for PGT. "There seemed to be a lack of trust with the previous method of getting paperwork back in. TRANSFLO Express was a means to increase the reliability and give drivers more control of their documents."
Added Lori Brown, PGT's Director of MIS, "Before, we had a lot of drivers who were reluctant to turn in envelopes during the week. When you have to let your load information go without a receipt, you're at the mercy of that system working and we had a lot of failures with that. We had situations where paperwork wasn't delivered from certain areas."
PGT also appreciated the speed and ease with which they were able to implement TRANSFLO Express. Romick said Pegasus' implementation tools helped get PGT's drivers up and running within 30 days of PGT signing on to the service.
"Pegasus provided us with a lot of information that helped us to communicate to our drivers and independent contractors. Pegasus has been through this and they have all the templates, which really helped us get it going quickly," Romick said.
