Transport America Driver Billy Joe Andrew Named Highway Angel by the Truckload Carriers Association

Transport America driver Billy Joe Andrew was recently recognized as a Highway Angel for the kindness he showed September 23, 2002 on Highway 99 in California.

Andrew was driving behind a car that had a blowout. He pulled over, changed the tire and sent the two women safely on their way. One of the women, seven months pregnant, was the wife of a California Highway Patrol Officer, who was so grateful that Andrew stopped to assist, he called Transport America to compliment the driver.

The Highway Angel program is an ongoing effort to recognize driver professionalism and elevate the public awareness of and appreciation for outstanding drivers. Transport America is proud of Andrew and salutes him for his efforts in assisting others while on the road. “Andrew is a great example of the drivers we like to have on our team,” said Director of Recruiting Steve Sichterman. “We congratulate Andrew and encourage all our drivers to help make a difference while out on the road.”
