Decker Names June and July 2009 Drivers Of The Month

Decker Fort Dodge, Iowa - Decker Truck Line, Inc. recently announced the company’s June and July 2009 Drivers of the Month. For June, Jeff Bostic was named flatbed Driver of the Month. Bostic joined Decker in 2002. The father of two, he resides in Geneva, New York. Bostic’s dispatcher, B.J. Waller said, “Jeff is a great and hard working guy. He is a team player and is willing to help out anyway possible.”

June Driver of the Month for the van/reefer division was Darrell Schaffner. Schaffner and his wife live in Fort Dodge, Iowa. They have four children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. “Darrell has been a very dependable driver, always on time and does an exceptional job. On June 13th Darrell celebrated 34 years of superior service for Decker Truck Line and the customers we serve,” stated Troy Rubel, Schaffner’s dispatcher.

Tom Shadle was named July’s Driver of the Month for the flatbed division. Shadle joined Decker in 2002. He lives in Clarion, Iowa and is the father of two children. Shadle’s dispatcher, Jerry Chapman explained, “Tom does a great job and is very easy to work with.” When Shadle isn’t driving for Decker, he enjoys spending time with his children and driving around in his Monte Carlo.

Van/reefer Driver of the Month for July was Dean Soucek. Also the father of two, Soucek resides in Fairmont, Iowa. When he is not driving for Decker, he enjoys playing baseball with his two sons. Gary Northop, Soucek’s dispatcher said, “Dean is a very nice guy to work with. He is always willing to go anywhere.”

Drivers and owner-operators are nominated monthly by their dispatcher. They are selected based on overall performance within all areas of the company, including operational productivity, safety record, maintenance/care of equipment (including idle time), payroll, billing and customer service. All drivers and owner-operators selected as a Driver of the Month are eligible to be chosen as Driver/Owner-operator of the Year.
