COMBINED TRANSPORT RECEIVES CARRIER OF THE YEAR AWARD

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. – The Oregon Trucking Association (OTA) recently announced Combined Transport, Inc. as its 2006 Carrier of the Year. Mike Card, President of Combined Transport, was there to accept the award during OTA’s annual convention at Eagle Crest Resort in central Oregon.

The OTA staff develops a list of nominees for this award each year. They provide that list to the Chairman and Vice Chairman, who then select that year’s recipient based on the company’s success and contributions during the previous year.

During 2006, Combined Transport generated around $85 million in revenue. With 325 company-owned trailers and partnership with 50 owner-operators, they transported more than 100,000 truckloads throughout the United States and Canada.

Founded by Richard Card in 1980, Combined Transport has worked to boost trucking awareness since the beginning, but especially in Oregon. And, still operating a family business, their contributions to Oregon’s transportation system have not gone unnoticed.
“The only surprise is that they have not received the award before now,” said OTA President, Bob Russell, during the presentation of the award. “The families of Combined Transport have been very successful in the trucking industry, but they have unselfishly given back to the industry as well.”
