CALARK’s SAFETY DIRECTOR RECIEVES AWARD FROM ARKANSAS TRUCKING ASSOCIATION
MABELVALE, Ark. – The Arkansas Trucking Association recently honored CalArk International’s Dennis Hilton as Safety Executive of the Year for 2006. This award from ATA is presented annually and given to the motor carrier safety executive whose professional qualifications, safety program and safety achievements stand out as most noteworthy.
A native of St. Louis and East Prairie, Missouri, Dennis
earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Harding
College, and then joined the United States Marine Corps after
graduation. During his service with the Marine Corps, Dennis served
a tour in Vietnam and also commanded “A” Battalion in Desert Storm
in 1990. He retired from a 30-year military career with a rank of
Colonel.
Dennis has been with CalArk since 1999, when he came aboard as a
recruiter with the company. In 2001, he was promoted to Director of
Safety for CalArk, and remains in that position today. All of his
colleagues have a great deal of respect for Dennis, and say they
feel privileged to work beside him each day.
Dennis and his lovely wife, Karen, have two daughters; Holly Hilton-Hoard, 37, and Heather Ledford, 34. His primary hobby away from the office is golf and he stays very active in his church in Cabot, Ark.
Rochelle Gorman, President of CalArk, considers Dennis a man of great integrity in everything he does. “The Arkansas Trucking Association has honored a true professional and a man genuinely deserving of this award in naming Dennis Hilton as the 2006 Safety Executive of the Year,” Rochelle said. “Words do not do justice to how proud we are of all his accomplishments.”
