After Years of Service, Drivers are Still Proud to Call Keller Home

Defiance, Ohio --- After years of driving for Keller Trucking, Inc. drivers say they are happy where they are and have no plans to leave anytime soon.

Walter Bakle, who has more than 40 years of driving experience behind him, has been with Keller since 1985 and has not looked back yet. Bakle says he enjoys driving for Keller because of the atmosphere. “They are a family owned company that really cares about their employees. They treat us very well here at Keller,” Bakle says. “Keller expects you to be where you are supposed to be, but if you have any problems, just call. They are a very understanding company,” says Bakle, who was provided a great deal of support from Keller after the loss of his son at age 18.

Kevin Higgins, who was referred by a friend to Keller 18 years ago, believes he was just “in the right place at the right time.” “I am very happy to be driving for Keller. I never thought I would stay this long, but as long as things continue the way they are, I will probably stay awhile,” Higgins says. Higgins enjoys the convenience of Keller to his home in Defiance, Ohio and says the pay and benefits are also worth noting. “I can’t say I don’t like the dedicated runs that come along with my seniority either. It’s nice to know where I’m going and when I’m going to get home,” he adds.

Dan Brown, who has been with Keller for 15 years, adds that all in all, “Keller is just a pleasant place to work.” Like Bakle, he also likes the family-owned atmosphere. He says that Keller is great because “they treat me like I’m somebody. When you have it as good as you do with Keller, you tend to stick around for awhile.” “I guess I’m still here because I’ve never had any trouble with them,” he adds, even after topping off about four inches of his trailer while driving through Chicago, which Brown says is one trip he will never forget.
