Central Transport Honors 20 Year Driver

Central Transport honors John Lopez for twenty years of service. The company found it only fitting that they should honor Lopez with a special ceremony marking his 20th anniversary with the company. The awards ceremony was held August 25 in Ft. Worth, TX. Danny Cooper, Contractor Relations Manager, presented Lopez with a plaque to commemorate the occasion.

“John is the ultimate professional, a super contractor and a super person,” said Cooper. Terminal Manager Sandy Snyder also had praise for Lopez. “He is the epitome of a conscious driver. He takes care of the company and the customer. That’s all it takes!”

Lopez also received a $200 Home Depot gift certificate during the ceremony that included a buffet of his favorite foods—chicken and beef fajitas. Lopez’s family was in attendance to witness the achievement. “I will cherish this for a long time,” said Lopez.

Lopez enjoys his relationships with customers and the routes that he runs in the state of Texas. He also likes the people he works with at Central as well as the success and growth opportunities with the company.

Away from work, Lopez spends time with his wife of 29 years, Gloria. They love to go to movies and eat out at their favorite restaurants. Lopez is also a big sports fan who tracks football, baseball and basketball. He even coached at the local YMCA for ten years. Lopez has a daughter, a son and a four-year-old grandchild.

After 27 years in the transportation industry, Lopez says his greatest accomplishment is “that I am still here and healthy. I can still do my job and I have nothing bad to say about Central Transport. They have always been flexible when I needed them to be.”
