Danny Herman Trucking - Gavin Kennedy Named Tennessee Road Team Captain
Gavin Kennedy grew up in trucking. His father was a professional truck driver, so it was natural for him to start a career in trucking. Today he is a company driver with Danny Herman Trucking, as he has been for seventeen years.
Since his beginning in the industry, Kennedy has logged an impressive four million safe miles. “The Lord plays a good part in that,” he said. His care for safety is just part of why Kennedy was a natural choice for the Tennessee Road Team.
As a member of the Road Team, Kennedy will spend a year traveling the country educating groups about the transportation industry. He will also teach a variety of safety tips including seat belts, blind spots for drivers and road courtesy.
“I really enjoy doing this. Maybe somewhere down the line I can save someone’s life because they are knowledgeable about big trucks,” said Kennedy.
For many years, Kennedy and his wife, Ruth, drove as a team. She enjoys accompanying her husband on his Road Team activities. “We like to interact with the children. Since we never had any, we decided to dedicate our lives to the world. Children are very special to us,” he adds.
Danny Herman Trucking congratulates Kennedy on his accomplishments and thanks him for all of his hard work. Everyone at Danny Herman is proud of both Gavin and Ruth Kennedy.
