Company goes above and beyond typical employer to support associate reservists; offers benefits and pay for up to 18 months
GREEN BAY, Wis., —Sept. 7, 2004— Schneider National Inc., a premierprovider of transportation, logistics and related services, has announcedthat it will extend differential pay and benefits from six to 18 months forits associates who have been called to active duty by the National Guardand Reserve components of the armed forces. Deployed associates nowreceive differential pay and benefits, including medical, dental andretirement savings, for up to 18 months. Schneider National also offers anumber of initiatives that provide support to associates’ families duringtheir absence and guarantees all associates serving with the National Guardand Reserve jobs upon their return from active duty.Schneider National has extended differential pay and benefits from theprevious six months to 18 months to support its associates as they serveand protect the United States. Military professionals play an integralrole in the success of Schneider National.

Transportation and logistics often are natural career choicesfor exiting active-duty military personnel who also select to becomemembers of the Guard and Reserve,” said Tim Fliss, vice president of humanresources at Schneider National Inc. and a former Captain in the Army Corpsof Engineers. “Extending benefits is a way to show our appreciation forthe sacrifice and dedication these guard members and reservists make onbehalf of our country.”
“By extending benefits and providing differential pay for a full 18months, Schneider National alleviates the financial burden that manyservice personnel and their families face when reservists are called toactive duty,” said Dan Ammerman, a senior financial analyst at SchneiderNational and a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves. “This will helpSchneider National associates who are serving their country in the militaryto focus on military duties without worrying about financial strains andthe additional turbulence of changing medical care providers for ourfamilies during our absence.” Lt. Col. Ammerman served as commander of the432nd Army Civil Affairs Battalion in Iraq in 2003.
