Barr-Nunn Receives IMTA Awards

Des Moines, IA, September 14, 2004 – The Iowa Motor Trucking Association, IMTA, awarded Barr-Nunn Inc. with the Great West Safety Award for outstanding achievement in highway safety for 2004 during their annual Best of the Best Breakfast. Barr-Nunn won in the six million to ten million mile class for truckload carriers. In the same ceremony, Barr-Nunn fleet manager, Paul Olsen, was named Dispatcher of the Year for 2004.

The Great West Safety Award is based on miles driven in Iowa and accident ratios for the period of April 2003 through March 2004. “It is a credit to each of our drivers that we have earned this award,” commented Barr-Nunn Director of Safety, Randy Kopecky. “This award goes to our drivers. We want to thank each and every one of them for making safety a habit.”

Paul Olsen was chosen as Dispatcher of the Year based on his driver retention percentage, fleet size, and overall safety rating. “He has been with Barr-Nunn for almost ten years and has done a phenomenal job,” said Director of Operations, Jeff Blank. “His drivers truly respect him and the job he does for them. I am very proud and honored to have him as part of my team.”
