DECKER ANNOUNCES JULY 2008 DRIVERS OF THE MONTH

Fort Dodge, Iowa-Decker Truck Line, Inc. is pleased to announce that Tom Shadle was selected as the July 2008 Owner-Operator of the Month for the Flatbed division. Selected as Driver of the Month for the Reefer/Van division was Bill Leedom.

Shadle came to Decker as an owner-operator in March of 2002. He joined Decker after many years of driving for Umthun Trucking. Decker dispatcher Jerry Chapman also dispatched Shadle at Umthun. Chapman said this of Shadle, “Tom is very easy to work with; he is a hard worker who will do just about anything asked of him.”

Shadle resides in Clinton, IA and has two children, Leigh Anne and Jason. In Shadle’s free time he enjoys spending time with his children and driving his Monte Carlo.

Leedom has been with Decker for just over four years. During his four years Leedom has driven for both the flatbed and reefer/van divisions. Gary Northrop, Leedom’s dispatcher, said, “Bill does a great job for us, he runs hard and is on time.”
Leedom, his wife Alissa and their five children live in Cedar Falls, IA. Leedom enjoys reading and spending time with his family when he is not on the road for Decker.

Congratulations to both July Drivers of the Month. Drivers and owner-operators are nominated monthly by their dispatcher. They are selected based on overall performance within all areas of the company, including operational productivity, safety record, maintenance/care of equipment (including idle time), payroll, billing and customer service. All drivers and owner-operators selected as a driver of the month will be eligible to be chosen as Driver/Owner-Operator of the year.
