Mr. Robert Conger of Prime Inc. Named Missouri’s Driver of the Month for June 2006
The Missouri Motor Carrier’s Association recently named Mr. Robert Conger Missouri’s Driver of the Month for June 2006. Mr. Conger, of Enosburg, Vermont, was selected for this award by representatives of the U.S. Department of Transportation, the State Highway Patrol, the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Division of Highway Safety from nominations submitted by a number of other companies. more

USG Corporation and Decker Truck Line, Inc. make appearance at NASCAR
Joliet, Ill. — USG Corporation sponsored the Sheetrock 400 and Durock 300 NASCAR races at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois on July 8-9, 2006. Because of the long-standing and successful business relationship between USG and Decker Truck Line, Inc., Decker was selected by USG to furnish two trucks and trailers to display USG products near the public entrance to the speedway. Unfortunately, the USG driver got bumped out of first place to take twenty-second place in the race. more
Epes Transport System, Inc. Celebrates 75th Anniversary
Epes Transport System, Inc. started out delivering tobacco and manufactured goods from North Carolina and southern Virginia during the Great Depression. Thanks to the leadership of founder Wilfred G. Epes Jr., the company survived not only the Great Depression, but World War II and deregulation. more
Kreilkamp Trucking Donates Trucks to Local Technical School
Kreilkamp Trucking recently donated three company tractors to Waukesha County Technical College’s (WCTC) Commercial Truck Driving Program; the trucks are valued at a total of $31,850. The tractors will make their permanent home at WCTC and will be put to use beginning with September classes. Kreilkamp has also leased two other tractors and five trailers to the program. Kreilkamp’s contributions allow these tractor-trailers to be used during instruction, allowing more people to learn the skills necessary to safely drive a truck and ultimately provide for their families as well. more

CTL Distribution Celebrates Driver Appreciation Week
Mulberry, FL — To celebrate Driver Appreciation Week, CTL Distribution Inc. has something planned for drivers each day from August 20 to 26. Drivers can look forward to hot meals for breakfast and lunch, ranging from hot dogs and hamburgers to chicken spaghetti and jambalaya. And when it’s time to get back on the road, drivers will leave with a brand new CTL hat and T-shirt. Every CTL terminal is participating with their own events, including terminals in Houston, Texas, Freeport, Texas, Sterlington, La., St. Gabriel, La., Mobile, Ala., Atlanta, Ga., Savannah, Ga., Jacksonville, Fla., Mulberry, Fla., Tampa, Fla. and E. Hormel Presents “Spirit of Excellence” Award to Decker Truck Line, Inc.
Hormel Foods Corporation has selected 51 of its suppliers to receive awards for providing quality service and/or products to the multinational marketer of consumer-branded meat and food products. Eleven transportation companies, including Decker Truck Line, Inc., were chosen for Spirit of Excellence awards by the logistics department. Hormel presented Decker Truck Line, Inc. a Spirit of Excellence award on Wednesday, July 19, 2006. Decker Truck Line, Inc. has received the Spirit of Excellence award ten times since 1995, and the Hormel #1 award in 2000. more
IdleAire and Arrow Trucking Co. Announce GATS Press Conference
Just one year since the announcement of a terminal agreement between Oklahoma-based Arrow Trucking Company and IdleAire Technologies, the two companies join forces in an address scheduled for Thursday at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Texas.
Mike Crabtree, President and CEO and Lynn Youngs, Executive Vice President, both of IdleAire will join Doug Pielsticker, President and CEO of Arrow Trucking at 1:45 pm, Thursday, August 24, in Meeting Room D-168. more
