Waupaca, WI: Trucker Buddy International and Mike Ryan Motorsports offer a collector's model of the Pike's Peak Hill Climb Record Setting Freightliner.

Each year, Mike Ryan races his Freightliner Century Class truck to the top of Pike's Peak, maneuvering thirteen miles of twists, turns and sheer drops before he crosses the finish line at the top. This truck is unique, with its race modified Mercedes-Benz engine and ArvinMeritor transmission, it has helped Mike set the world's record for a Class 8 truck in the Pike's Peak Hill Climb.

Now, you can own a replica of this powerful rig and help support a nonprofit organization at the same time. Trucker Buddy International has partnered with Mike Ryan Motorsports (http://www.fastrucks.com) in producing a 1:64 scale model of the race truck, Freightliner transporter and flatbed trailer. This three-piece set has been produced by Die-Cast Promotions (http://www.ffertl3.com), a manufacturer of high quality premier die-cast metal replicas.

Proceeds from the model will benefit Trucker Buddy International, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping educate and mentor the nation's schoolchildren via a pen-pal relationship between professional truck drivers and children in grades two through eight. Trucker Buddy drivers share their experiences from the road with their students each week, and the children respond with individual letters each month.

This highly detailed set will be available in mid-August, and can be ordered by calling Trucker Buddy at 1-800-MYBUDDY or through their website at http://www.truckerbuddy.org. The product will be available at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Texas September 26-28. A press conference will provide the media with a closer look at the model and will be held Friday, September 26 at 3:00 PM in room D220 at the truck show.

Collectors can purchase the three-piece set for $55 at the Great American Trucking Show at the Trucker Buddy booth #23 (lobby) during show hours. Mike Ryan will be available to autograph the model trucks and the record setting rig will be parked inside the lobby.
