Interstate First to Integrate New DriverTech In-Cab Scanning System

(Tacoma, Wash.)—Interstate Distributor Co. is pleased to announce the integration of a completely new in-cab scanning system into its fleet. Designed by DriverTech, it expedites billing processes, decreases wait time for important documents and provides added convenience to the customer.

Interstate Distributor Co. partnered with DriverTech, designers of the Windows XP-embedded onboard computing system, in 2006 to initiate this project. “We knew utilizing DriverTech as a mobilecom replacement would benefit our drivers as well as our customers,” George Payne, chief executive officer for Interstate, said.

The new DTScan In-Cab Scanning System is the world’s first production-level scan-and-capture technology created for truck cabs utilizing Visioneer OneTouch scanners with Kofax VRS technology. Described as easy-to-use, it produces professional documents at a reduced image size, delivers those documents within minutes to the company and allows for scanning at the time of load delivery without additional charges.
