DECKER ANNOUNCES APRIL 2008 DRIVERS OF THE MONTH

Fort Dodge, Iowa-Decker Truck Line, Inc. recently announced that John Kilmer was selected as the April 2008 Driver of the Month for the Flatbed division and Jerry Birkey was selected for the Reefer/Van division.

Kilmer has been driving for Decker17 years. Shelly Rautenan dispatches Kilmer and said “he has a great work ethic and I am glad to have such a hard working driver on my board”. Kilmer enjoys gardening in his spare time. He and his wife reside in Ft. Dodge, Iowa.

Birkey has been with Decker for 13 years. Scott Myers, Birkey’s dispatcher said, “Jerry does an outstanding job and is always willing to help when and wherever he is needed.” Birkey resides in Manson, Iowa where he enjoys golfing and riding his motorcycle.

Drivers and owner-operators are nominated monthly by their dispatcher. They are selected based on overall performance within all areas of the company, including operational productivity, safety record, maintenance/care of equipment (including idle time), payroll, billing and customer service. All drivers and owner-operators selected as a driver of the month will be eligible to be chosen as Driver/Owner-Operator of the year.
