Epes Transport System Raises Pay for Company Drivers, Owner Operators and Teams
Greensboro, NC — Epes Transport System, a truckload carrier based in North Carolina, recently raised pay for company drivers, owner operators and dedicated teams.
The new package increases top company pay to $.42 per mile and independent contractor pay to $.90 per mile loaded and empty (plus fuel surcharge). Epes also has announced a new Dedicated Team operation of 50 power units with pay up to $.54 per mile for company teams and $1.15 per mile for independent contractors. In addition, the wait time for detention pay has been reduced from four hours to two hours, in response to recommendations made by their driver fleet.
The new pay raise will go into effect on 7/31/2006. “Our goal is to provide our fleet with solid pay and home weekends. This is a well deserved raise for our professionals on the road,” commented Britt Colley, president of Epes Transport System.
