CONTINENTAL EXPRESS DRIVER REACHES SAFE DRIVING MILESTONE
Little Rock, Ark. (July 12, 2006) -- Continental Express driver Soloman Respress of Columbia, Ala. has reached 1.4 million safe driving miles and has no doubt that he will reach two million in the near future.
“Maybe I’m just lucky, but I think I’m just a safe driver in general,” say Respress who has driven professionally for 12 years. “I never get in a rush and I am always sure to prepare for my trip ahead of time. It’s easy to drive safely when you know exactly where you are going and how to get there,” he adds.
Respress’ time with Continental has been well what he expected. “They give you a lot of freedom. As long as you do your job, they don’t hassle you,” he says. Respress adds that he gets enough home time, but “I’m a workaholic. I love being on the road and Continental puts me there. The road is like a vacation to me because I usually have to do more work when I get home.”
Continental Express Driver Reaches Milestone in Safe Driving
Little Rock, Ark. – Continental Express driver George Voigt, who currently resides on the Jersey Shore, recently reached one million safe driving miles and looks forward to hitting the two million mark.
Voigt, who has been driving for eight years says his secret to safe driving is that “there really is no secret. It’s simple; just practice what you have learned and continue to learn along the way.” He adds, “It’s important to strive for more knowledge and take everything as a learning process.”
Currently running in all 48 states, Voigt remains loyal to Continental for several reasons. “For one thing, I like to stay where I’m at for the long run,” he says. “It’s easy to get frustrated with any company, but you have to stick it out and it will usually be worth it in the end.” He credits his loyalty to having the opportunity to work with some really great dispatchers. He adds that “home time is pretty liberal. Most of my home time has been when I have requested it.”
Voigt claims he never expected to hit 1,000,000 safe miles. “If the next million go as quickly as the first million did, I should be at two million in no time,” he says. Voigt also says he owes a heartfelt thank you to his mother, Pauline, for playing such a large role in where he is today. “She provided me with a lot of support that really helped get me started. I might not be where I am today if it weren’t for her,” he says.
