Eagan, Minnesota
—Keith Loging, a driver with Minnesota-based
truckload carrier Transport America, recently
received Transport America’s One Million Mile Accident-Free
Safety Award. Presenting the award to Keith was Mike Paxton, the
company’s president and CEO. Keith, who has been driving for
11 years, has spent his entire career with Transport America. He is
married, and has three children ages 10, seven and five.
More than 11 years ago, Keith decided to leave behind his family’s dairy farm to attend truck driving school. After graduating, he joined Transport America because he felt the company took a personal interest in him. Over the next decade, Keith witnessed Transport America grow, but says the company never lost interest in getting to know the drivers. Keith also commented on the positive impact Mike Paxton has had on drivers since he became president of the company in 2001.
For the past seven years, Keith has served Transport America as a Driver Instructor. As he passes along his respect for the road to his students, Keith hopes they, too, will someday reach one million accident-free miles. His advice to new drivers is simple: “Leave your temper at home,” he warns. “Don’t let the small things get to you.”
