Commercial Carrier Corp. Awards Drivers at 2006 Truck Driving Championship
Auburndale, FL — Professional drivers of Commercial
Carrier Corp. (CCC) competed in the company’s ninth annual Truck
Driving Championship in Auburndale on April 29. Over 250 people
attended the event, and 39 drivers entered the competition. Charlie
Prevratil of Auburndale, FL, was named Grand Champion of the 2006
Truck Driving Championship for his skill and knowledge in the
professional driving arena.
In addition to evaluating each contestant’s pre-trip preparedness and ability to maneuver his or her truck through an obstacle course, judges also required drivers to participate in an interview on their personal attitude towards driving and complete a written exam.
Other awards went to the first, second and third place winners
in the van, flatbed and tanker categories.
In the van division, Charlie Prevratil of the Auburndale Terminal
placed first, Teresa Hall of the Auburndale Terminal placed second
and Deborah Dyson of the Mulberry Terminal placed third. In
flatbed, Darrell Smithers of the Auburndale Terminal placed first,
Carl Hutchcraft of the Auburndale Terminal placed second and Gary
Richardson of the Auburndale Terminal took third place. Finally, in
the tanker division, Bob Moral from the Brooksville Terminal placed
first, Don Freiburger of the Tampa Terminal placed second and third
place went to Erick Guzman of the Miami Terminal.
