WyoTech Earns Platinum Level Status From TMC As Friends of the Technician Sponsor

WyoTech technical college has been awarded Platinum level status as a Friend of the Technician by the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC). Platinum status is conferred to companies, individuals or organizations that sponsor TMC's Friends of the Technician program at the $20,000 or higher level a year.

The Friend of the Technician program helps fund ongoing efforts towards improving the image of truck technicians and attracting new technicians to our industry. TMC, through the Professional Technician Development Committee (PTDC), does this by collectively sponsoring scholarships, advertising campaigns aimed at students and guidance counselors, outreach efforts and other high-visibility efforts. The PTDC is organizing TMCSuperTech2005, TMC's inaugural National Technical Skills Competition, to be held Sept. 18-20 in conjunction with TMC's 2005 Fall Meeting, Sept. 19-22, at the Valley Forge Convention Plaza in Valley Forge, Pa.

WyoTech is dedicated to superior quality, college-level, career-oriented education in the automotive, diesel and collision/refinishing industries. WyoTech's Diesel Technology program includes courses with the emphasis in engine management systems and accessories; fluid, power and electrical systems; engines; power trains. Students get hands-on experience with a variety of engines and power systems. WyoTech and its instructors make sure that students are able to work with machines produced by the most influential names in the industry, such as: Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, and more.

TMC, a technical council of American Trucking Associations, is North America's premier technical society for truck equipment, information technology and logistics professionals. TMC member fleets represent 1.3 million trailers, more than 750,000 straight trucks, and more than 600,000 Class 8 tractors purchased in the United States - one third of the commercial vehicles operating on U.S. highways.
