Sitton Motor Lines Announces 2003 Drivers of the Month and Driver of the Year

Sitton Motor Lines is proud to announce the 2003 Driver of the Year Award winner and the July through December 2003 Driver of the Month recipients.
The prestigious Driver of the Year Award went to David Tackitt of Annapolis, Missouri. Tackitt has been a company driver for Sitton since October of 2001 and was also named July 2003 Driver of the Month. As a special reward for his honors, Tackitt was assigned a special 2004 Freightliner with custom lettering and received a U.S. Savings Bond, in addition to a personalized embroidered Driver of the Year jacket, an engraved plaque to take home and another that was placed on the company's Wall of Fame. Tackitt, along with his wife Julie, also attended a special reception in Joplin that was held in honor of his accomplishment.

Also honored were 1st Runner-Up, Anthony “Tony” Barnett of Crescent, Oklahoma and 2nd Runner-Up, Fred Guthrie of Independence, Missouri. Barnett has been a company driver for Sitton since July of 1994 and was named February 2003 and January 2000 Driver of the Month. Guthrie has been an owner-operator for Sitton since March of 1997 and was named April 2003 and September 2000 Driver of the Month. Both men were rewarded with a U.S. Savings Bond, custom lettering on their trucks and a personalized embroidered jacket.

Sitton also congratulates the following Driver of the Month recipients for 2003: August Driver of the Month, Ronald McConnell of Broken Arrow, OK, 16 year company driver; September Driver of the Month, Gary Sump of Corsicana, TX, 11 year company driver; October Driver of the Month, Dennis Bryant of Wewoka, OK, 3 year company driver; November Driver of the Month, Rickey Lee of Joplin, MO, 13 year owner-operator and December Driver of the Month, Ernesto Ramos of Forest Hills, NY, 1 year company driver.
