C. Bean Announces 3¢ / mile Bonus

C. Bean Transport, Inc. recently announced a three-cent per mile safety and incentive bonus program for over the road drivers.

“The bonus is paid quarterly and is intended to reward those drivers who meet or exceed company standards,” explained Director of Safety, James Fisher. “We set it up so that if a driver does his job, he’s going to receive the money.”

“Our average company driver made $45,500 last year,” commented General Manager, Scott Russell. “This bonus could mean an additional $4,000 a year to a driver. That’s a heck of a pay increase.”

The bonus system requires drivers to maintain standards outlined in Bean’s policy manual and is set up to incrementally reward drivers based on their miles driven for the quarter. “Basically, if a driver is safe and follows company guidelines, he’ll receive a bonus,” said Fisher. “We designed the bonus so that all drivers could win.”

C. Bean is an Arkansas based, family owned division of Bean Lumber Company, which operates approximately 300 tractors. Bean offers company-driving opportunities for van and flatbed drivers, and utilizes flatbed trucking owner operators.
