Loveland began his day at 9:00 a.m. by signing the paperwork for his truck. He then headed to the show, where the Cummins team provided him with souvenir clothing and a Cummins expert explained the features of Loveland’s new vehicle. The rest of his day was spent touring the show before being escorted to dinner by Don Hayden, co-chair of TCA’s Communications and Image Policy Committee and president of M & M Cartage Company, Louisville, Kentucky.

“It was an honor to spend time with James and help take care of the details in acquiring his new pickup,” said Hayden. “He is someone who truly understands the business and is a terrific role model for all drivers.”

Loveland received the prestigious award based on his excellent safety record, unblemished work history, and involvement in the community and industry. A truck driver for WSE Transportation, LLC, since 1998, he has logged more than 1.6 million accident-free, truckload miles. In 2005, he actively participated in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) efforts to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. Later, in 2008, Loveland volunteered in a similar capacity when Hurricane Ike bore down on the state of Louisiana.
In addition to the pickup truck, Loveland’s grand prize package included $3,950 in truck stop gift cards, $2,750 in cash, a TagHeuer Swiss Avant-Gard men’s watch (valued at $1,500), and two roundtrip airplane tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S.

TCA is the only national trade association whose collective sole focus is the truckload segment of the motor carrier industry. The association represents dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, and intermodal container carriers operating in the 48 contiguous states, as well as Alaska, Mexico, and Canada. Representing operators of more than 200,000 trucks, which collectively produce annual revenue of more than $20 billion, TCA is an organization tailored to specific truckload carrier needs.
