MABLETON, Ga., - By midnight every evening, not a
single Stafford Transport truck can be found in the company’s yard.
And that’s just the way the waste hauler’s maintenance manager in
Mableton, Ga., likes it.
“We run just enough trucks in our fleet to cover our routes so
everything we have has to be running on the streets and not waiting
here in the yard for replacement parts to arrive,” said Jamie
Roberts, maintenance manager for Stafford Transport. Roberts is
responsible for managing the maintenance facility in Mableton and
for making sure the company trucks stationed there run like
clockwork.

New Kenworth Brochure Features Medium Duty Hybrids

Con-way Plans To Cut $100 Million of Overhead
Con-way Inc. has launched a series of measures to cut costs, including a reductions in executive pay, suspension of certain company 401(k) contributions, and cuts in other benefits and pay. The company projects that the cost reduction actions will save between $100 million to $130 million in 2009. more

Louisville, Kentucky – James Loveland, the Truckload Carriers Association’s (TCA) 2008 Company Equipment Driver of the Year, took possession of his brand new, Cummins-powered Dodge Ram pickup truck on March 19, 2009, during the Mid-America Trucking Show, held at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Loveland, a company driver for WSE Transportation, LLC, of Elm Springs, Arkansas, received the pickup truck as part of his prize package for winning the grand prize in the 20th annual “Company Equipment Driver of the Year Contest,” sponsored by Truckload Carriers Association and Trucker’s News. more
