Tri-State Motor Transit Honors Drivers With Two Million Safe Miles

Tri-State Motor Transit of Joplin, Mo., recently inducted two professional drivers into the company’s prestigious Two Million Mile Club. The awards presentation and banquet occurred April 5 at the Holiday Inn of Joplin.

Members of the club have driven two million miles without an accident. On average, it takes approximately 20 years driving professionally to reach this goal. Drivers Joe Beck and Sam Knowles are truly at the top of their field.
Beck, of Little Rock, Ark., says his key to his success is “being the best at what I do every time I get behind the wheel.” Support from family, especially his wife, allows him to be free from worries about what is happening at home; he says he is able to focus on the road around him.

Knowles, of Eaton, Ohio, states that he is God’s co-pilot and that the Lord was really the one driving his truck all those miles. He is inspired to get home safely so he can get home to see his family again. He lists the day of the ceremony as his best day with Tri-State saying, “it is great to be recognized for hard work; many drivers out there are not rewarded for the good job they do.”
Both drivers received a trip for two to the destination of their choice and spending money for the trip. They also were given a commemorative, framed medallion and a Two Million Mile embroidered hat and jacket. Perhaps the most important gift, however, was the surprise attendance of their family members. Children, parents and other family members were flown in for the occasion on the Tri-State company plane.
