TDT truck wins Best of Show in Mid-America Truck Show competition

April 4, 2006 -- Clint Dicks of TDT Trucking in Lake City, Fla., says he’s “tickled to death” with his Best in Show placement in two categories at the Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville, Ky., March 23-25.
Dicks received Best of Show in the Combo/Limited Mileage Division and placed first in the Best Peterbilt category. “I have been so excited,” says Dicks. “We put a lot of time and energy into getting the truck ready so it’s great that it paid off this way.”
According to Dicks, the truck received a new coat of paint on the frame, customized stainless and chrome and a thorough cleaning. “The judges were very meticulous,” he said. “They gave it the white cloth test.”

The judges evaluated entries based on cleanliness, chrome, and detailing among other criteria.
Dicks won out over nine other entries, four of which had won Best in Show previously. “My father [founder Terry Dicks] was so nervous during the judging, he couldn’t sit down the whole time,” said Dicks. “But he was as proud as the rest of us when they gave us the award.”

For his showing, Dicks was awarded a Waterford crystal bowl with a custom wood and stainless base by Rockford products, plus $500.
