SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM SUPPORTS STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES
(Texarkana, TX) December 2, 2003 – As part of its ongoing effort to show its appreciation to employees, drivers, and owner operators, Tri-State Delivery has launched a new scholarship program beginning this fall. The program supports the education of Tri-State families and their children at traditional state colleges, nursing schools, and trade schools.
“This program is just one more way we strive to build value in the members of our Tri-State family,” says Beverly Jones,Human Resource Manager, . “Our eligibility requirements are such that everyone is included – this program is about expanding opportunities not limiting them.”
Nine students received the first Tri-State Delivery scholarships for fall 2003. They were: Allison Bledsoe, daughter of James Bledsoe; Laura Mauk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Mauk; Jennifer Shenold, daughter of Shirley Caddell; Catheryne Slayter daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Slayter; Roletta Johnson, wife of Daniel Mark Johnson; Jared Merchant and Shannon Merchant, children of Patricia Mendenhall; Christina Pilgreen, daughter of Vince and Cheryl Pilgreen; and Christie Williford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Williford.
The funds for the scholarships were received from donations, fundraising projects and benefactors. “One hundred percent of the money we raise goes toward the scholarships,” says Jones. “Our employees, drivers and owner operators volunteer to help raise funds. It’s a company-wide effort.”
