Paschall Truck Lines Recognizes Driver and Owner Operator

Paschall Truck Lines (PTL) proudly announces their honorees for January Driver and Owner Operator of the Month. Congratulations to Stan Salimi, Driver of the Month, and Mark Womble, Owner Operator of the Month.

Salimi has been driving professionally for 14 years, 12 of which have been with PTL. He says he enjoys trucking because of the independence, responsibility and the importance of the transportation industry.

“Without this industry, the country would grind to a halt…. The responsibility of keeping the company’s good name with the shipper and the receiver has been my foremost pleasure of truck driving for PTL,” said Salimi.

Some of the most memorable experiences Salimi has had as a driver include coming out of the Blue Mountains in Oregon and looking down at the valley floor while driving down a winding 7-8% grade, driving through Vermont in the fall when the leaves are changing color and seeing the beauty of the Arizona desert at night during a full moon.

Salimi also says he is glad he chose to start a career as an OTR driver at PTL and if he had to make the choice again, he would do it all over. He would like to thank his wife of 30 years, Fran, for her support and everyone he has worked with at PTL over the years.

Mark Womble has been a professional truck driver for 11 years, eight of which have been at PTL. Womble says he enjoys meeting people while on the road and the freedom that trucking brings. In fact, he enjoys his job so much that his future plans include “working forever.”

Womble was also awarded Owner Operator of the Month in November 2004 and February 2003. He recently received his 900,000 mile safe driving award.

Away from work, Womble enjoys spending time with his wife, Jamie, and their two children Heather and Nikkie. He says if it weren’t for his wife, he wouldn’t be driving professionally; the two made up a driving team in the past. Womble also enjoys doing yard work at his home.
