Marten Transport appoints new Director of Sales

MONDOVI, Wis. -- Marten Transport, Ltd. has promoted Vern Bender to the position of Director of Sales. Bender, who has been with the company since 1986, will be responsible for guiding the activities of Marten’s Sales and Sales Services departments.

“We expect Vern’s experience and expertise will serve him well in his new duties,” said Susan Deetz, Marten’s Director of Human Resources. “His track record with the company and our customers are part of the reason why Marten has become one of the most successful time and temperature sensitive carriers in the industry.”

A large part of Bender’s job will be to implement the company’s sales strategy of focusing on national accounts with multiple facilities who require protective service for their products.

Prior to being promoted to Director of Sales, Bender served as Marten’s Corporate Account Director for seven years. Before that he held Area Sales and Regional Sales Manager positions at the company. Before joining Marten Transport, Bender worked for the Target Corporation for 16 years where he held a variety of Transportation Management positions.
