Prime Inc. Announcements and News

Prime Inc.’s 2004 company driving team of the year is David and Barbara Call. The Calls came into Prime 5 ½ years ago after working in the technology industry together. Looking for a change of pace, David decided to give trucking a try. “I really thought I’d hate it at first,” recalled David. “But after a while my wife joined me on the road and we’ve been doing it ever since. We both love the job and everything it brings to us.” Both Calls speak highly of Prime, especially when it concerns the incentive programs that they’ve utilized to maximize their earnings. “Prime gives us a bunch of reasons to continue to do well. And all we have to do is do our job. No more, no less,” said Barbara.

Prime Inc.’s 2004 tanker division contractor of the year is Veranda Wilcox-Hall. Hall entered the trucking industry with Prime in 1990 because of her fascination with the machinery. “Trucks are amazing machines. I love to drive,” said Hall. She may fancy the machines, but she respects the job. “This is a business and it requires a business-like attitude,” said Hall. “I take my job very seriously and it pays off for me in the end.” Hall believes that her occupation is much more than a driver, it’s a company representative. “I enjoy working for Prime, they’ve done by me very well. I make the customers happy, they continue to hire Prime, and everyone continues to make more money!”

Prime Inc.’s 2004 company driver of the year is Herman Knight. Knight was a long-time driver with another company that was purchased by Prime Inc. Knight says he knew right away when the ownership changed that he was in the right hands. “Immediately Prime upgraded all of my equipment and got me into a new truck,” said Knight. “Prime takes pride in making sure that you have the best training, the best equipment, the best tools to do your job and be successful at it. That’s been my and Prime’s attitude from the beginning. Other companies don’t concern themselves with those things.”

Prime Inc.’s 2004 flatbed division contractor of the year is Archie McCourt. McCourt is an 11-year veteran of the trucking industry. He is currently on the Northeast regional route exclusively. He credits PRIME for his success. “I just enjoy my job,” said McCourt. “I do my job and I do it right. Because of that, Prime has helped me when I needed it the most.” McCourt specifically recalls a situation a few years ago when he fell ill and was forced to stop driving for several months. During that time period, Prime continued to pay McCourt even though they were not obligated to do so, as he is an independent contractor. As McCourt put it, “Prime takes care of their own.”
