NEXIQ Technologies Announces Arrival of the Most Advanced Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™ Handheld Scan Tool
New Unit Analyzes Popular
Diesel Engines, Transmissions and ABS Systems, Provides Advanced
Graphing Capabilities and Sunlight-Readable VGA Screen
Auburn Hills, Mich., March 17, 2004 - Diagnostics for heavy-duty
truck and equipment engines and systems has advanced with the
arrival of the Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™ system (PN 104008), a
new handheld scan tool that makes interpreting diagnostic data a
lot more clear and accessible. Introduced by NEXIQ Technologies, a
Snap-on Incorporated brand, the new unit builds upon the
cumulative expertise of the Pro-Link® Plus system - the most widely
used scan tool in the heavy duty industry - and supports more than
50 manufacturer specific applications, while adding informative
graphing capabilities and a brilliant color display.
The Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™ scan tool tests a variety of electronic
control systems, diesel engines, transmissions, brakes and
instrument panels. Using additional applications, the scan tool
provides
factory-level diagnostic information including on-screen trouble
code definitions, OEM data parameters, advanced functional tests
and reprogramming capabilities. Data can be graphed in real-time to
help pinpoint even the most challenging intermittent problems.
Comprehensive diagnostic tests are easily administered via simple,
easy-to-navigate and understand menus and message screens. A
built-in flight recorder collects data and provides a diagnostic
snapshot during test-drives for later review.
The Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™ model offers a large, 1/4 VGA adjustable
backlit LCD display that is bright enough for users to view data in
dim light or direct sunlight. The unit graphs up to four
data parameters to show relationships and trends over time to
isolate reoccurring and potential problems. Users can also view up
to eight parameters in text mode with Enhanced Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™
software that covers Allison, Bendix, Dana/Eaton, International,
Mack, Meritor, Volvo and ZF Meritor systems.
The unit is also fully compatible with existing Pro-Link®
Multi-Protocol Cartridges (MPC) and previous Pro-Link® software
titles, including applications for Caterpillar and International
engine
systems, Detroit Diesel marine systems, Hino injection pumps,
Kelsey-Hayes Automatic Braking systems, Mack Truck V-Mac II, Volvo
VED 12 systems, OBDII for GM, Ford and Chrysler automotive and
others.
The Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™ system is available individually and in kits that contain the scan tool hardware and manufacturer- and application-specific software. Software applications are also available separately. The Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™ scan tool is available in the following kit options:
- Heavy Duty Standard Kit (PN 604001), includes Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™ system and the functions necessary to meet most SAE/TMC J1708/J1587 OBD electronic control, engine, instrument, transmission and brake systems
- Heavy Duty ABS Diagnostic Kit (PN 604017), which contains the Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™ system and all the necessary software and adapters for Bendix, Dana/Eaton and Meritor WABCO automatic braking systems
- Heavy Duty Transmission Kit (PN 604016), which includes the Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™ system and diagnostic software and adapters for Allison, Dana/Eaton Roadranger and ZF Meritor transmission systems

- Mack Trucks Kit (PN 604015), which contains the Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™ system and software and adapters for diagnosing V-MAC III engine systems
Software applications for the Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™ are used in
conjunction with the MPC units, an Intel-based design compatible
with J1708, J1939, 160 Baud and ISO 9141 vehicles. The
Pro-Link
GRAPHIQ™ also includes a slot for applications contained on PCMCIA
cards. An RS-232 port on the unit easily enables technicians to
update applications from other computing devices. Each Pro-Link
GRAPHIQ™ system includes a 12V adapter cord, fuse-protected power
cable and a protective carrying case.
