For Second Consecutive Year, Celadon Selected Among ‘Best Places to Work in Indiana’

During the past year, Celadon implemented its ‘Highway 2 Health’ program which provides employees with an onsite medical team that includes a nurse practitioner to handle minor medical problems, such as colds, strains and sprains. In addition, the program offers health screenings and nutrition classes.

“Our chairman, Steve Russell, has a motto: ‘Life is good when you can’t wait to get to work and you can’t wait to get home,” said Glaser. “I am proud that Celadon is a place where people enjoy working.”

In its second year, the ‘Best Places’ assessment program is designed to identify outstanding employers in the state as determined through extensive employer evaluations and comprehensive employee surveys. Winners were selected from two categories: small- to medium-sized companies of between 25 and 249 employees, and large-sized companies consisting of 250 or more employees. The rankings will be unveiled and the winners will be honored at an awards luncheon on May 2.

“The ‘Best Places to Work in Indiana’ program has two missions: to honor those exemplary employers and to encourage other Hoosier businesses to evaluate their workplace environment to see how it affects their employees,” said Indiana Chamber President Kevin Brinegar. “Common sense tells us that an employee who feels valued will likely be a more dependable, productive worker, and therefore have a positive impact on the company’s bottom line.”
