PRIME Inc. Named 2004 Carrier of the Year
PRIME Becomes First Transportation Carrier Honored by Sumitomo Electric Lightwave, Corp.
Springfield, MO, February 22, 2005 – Trucking company Prime Inc. was awarded Sumitomo Electric’s Carrier of the Year Award for 2004. This is the first year Sumitomo Electric has given such an award to a transportation carrier.
“We’ve never given this type of an award to any of our carriers. However, since Prime has done such a wonderful job as our primary flatbed trucking carrier, I felt that the award was deserved – even needed,” said John Wright, Purchasing and Logistics Manager for Sumitomo Electric.
Sumitomo Electric Lightwave, Corp., uses Prime Inc. for a major portion of its Telecommunications Fiber Optic Cable transportation needs. Its parent, Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. based in Japan, is more than 400-years-old.
“I discovered Prime on the Internet, contacted one of their managers and they started transporting for us the very next day. They provide exceptional service, the comfort level is high and we have a very good relationship,” said Wright.
