Young Owner Operator Finds What He Needs at FFE

He worked as an air cargo specialist in the Air Force, made a career in computer software, was a carnival ride jockey, a plumber and a welder. Soon, he’ll be turning the key to a brand-new 2007 Freightliner Century Class with an APU. “This truck will be all mine,” he says proudly.

Akers says he is pleased that he stayed committed to the lease program, especially with fuel prices going up. With all of the rewards that he has received in the lease program, Akers is convinced he has found best career for him.

“I’m a business person now,” he said. “This isn’t just a job and I’m learning a lot about business and how to be successful at FFE.”

One of the best things about FFE, Akers says, is the support.

The best advice for those considering a lease program, Akers says, is to work out the numbers first and to build a reserve that will allow you to have extra money in case of maintenance or extra expenses. Although he is concentrating on running his business right now, Akers, a resident of Los Angeles, does pause now and then to enjoy relaxing on Venice Beach.
