Maverick Transportation, Inc. Announces 2004 Driver of the Year
Maverick Transportation
announced Tony Sutherland of Scott Depot, WV, as the 2004 Driver of
the Year on Friday, January 21st, 2005 at their annual Driver of
the Year banquet.
“Wow!” exclaimed Sutherland. “I’ve never been accused of being speechless, but I came pretty close when they announced my name. This award truly means so much to me.”
Honored as Maverick’s April Driver of the Month for 2004, Sutherland has proven himself as a leader in the company’s fleet. Combining safe driving, a positive attitude, and genuine driver professionalism, this honor was very well deserved. In Sutherland’s 12 plus years with Maverick, he has received numerous safety awards, including a 10-year safe driving award and a recent Million Mile Safety Award. He attributes his longevity and success with Maverick to the teamwork atmosphere among the drivers and Maverick’s continuous care of their drivers.
Every month Maverick recognizes a driver from the company's fleet who takes pride in his profession and the company, employs safety, and maintains Maverick standards in all they do. All Maverick employees vote from the twelve Drivers of the Month and selected Sutherland as the 2004 winner.
