Epes Transport System out of Greensboro, North Carolina, raises the level of competition with their new generous pay package for 2005.
Owner Operators’ compensation jumped from 84¢ per mile to 86¢ per mile, and the package includes the following benefits: a fuel surcharge program that pays on all miles, loaded and empty; paid base plates and permits; paid fuel and use tax, including all administration; a national tire account program; health, dental and short-term disability insurance; and no runs to New York City or Canada.
Company drivers are given a pay increase of 2¢ per mile effective February 1, 2005; solo drivers can earn up to 40¢ per mile, and teams can earn up to 46¢ per mile based on experience.
