Transport America Announces Pay Increases for 2004

Standing behind the company¹s commitment to drivers and their success, Transport America is happy to announce a pay increase for company drivers and owner-operators for 2004.  The company is spreading out the increase over a four-month period.  In January, experienced drivers receive up to .37 cents per mile.  That rate will go up to .38 cents per mile in February and then up to .39 cents per mile in April.  The rate for owner-operators also increased in January to .83 cents per mile for loaded and empty miles and will go up to .84 cents per mile in February and up to .85 cents per mile in April.

The pay increase couldn¹t have come at a better time, as drivers are apprehensive about the drastic changes occurring within the industry.  As always, Transport America equips drivers with the necessary pay and benefits to maintain successful driving careers.  Just recently, the company implemented an Hours of Service Protection Plan for drivers.

This is a plan devised of additional compensation to protect drivers¹ pay.  In fact, that¹s what is Transport America's top priority to protect drivers and to compensate them well for their hard work.

"The industry is changing, and Transport America is a leader in providing drivers and contractors with the tools they need to be successful," said Larry Bailey, Director of Recruiting.  "The pay increases and protection plans the company is implementing are reflecting that."

In addition to an outstanding pay and benefits package, Transport America also offers unique programs such as $ure-Pay, which allows drivers to approve and verify their pay after delivering each load, and Guaranteed Get Home Certificates, which guarantee a driver gets home on a specific date requested.
