Jan. 12, 2004 –Schneider National Inc., North America's largest truckload carrier and premium transportation and logistics services provider, announced today it is seeking candidates throughout Georgia to fill 400 new truck driver positions. The news follows a recent announcement that Schneider National will be opening a new Operating Center in DeKalb County in February 2004. No relocation to DeKalb County will be required. New drivers will be managed from the DeKalb Operating Center, but will live throughout Georgia. The company's expanded presence will support its continued growth in the Southeast.
Schneider National plans to hire 400 regional and over-the-road drivers and owner operators throughout Georgia in the first quarter of this year. Schneider National will host career fairs on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the following Georgia locations: · Decatur Career Center, 3879 Covington Highway, Decatur · Augusta Career Center, 601 Greene Street, Augusta · Albany Career Center, 1608 Slappey Blvd., Albany · Savannah Career Center, 5520 White Bluff Road, Savannah Presentations will be held at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in Decatur, Augusta and Albany.
Presentations will be held at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. in Savannah. Schneider National representatives will be available all day to answer questions about the new positions and to schedule interviews. In addition to its new facility in DeKalb County and Georgia-based career opportunities, Schneider National also recently implemented a new compensation package for drivers and owner operators. Inexperienced drivers are encouraged to apply for the new positions and will earn an average of $32,500 - $36,500 in their first year. Experienced drivers will earn an average of $42,500 - $51,500 per year. Owner operators leasing with Schneider National will average $130,000 - $140,000 annually.
