Boyd Bros. Announces Pay Raise

Clayton , AL Boyd Bros. Transportation has announced a new increase in their overall driver pay program. The new package includes raises in per-mile pay for company drivers and owner operators, as well as increases in layover and detention pay, which are designed to address issues with the new Hours of Service regulations.

The pay increase will be implemented throughout the first quarter of 2004 and includes big numbers for drivers. Company drivers with up to one year of experience will receive increases of up to 6.8%, resulting in up to three cents per mile more (up to 32 cpm). Company drivers with over one year of experience will see increases approaching 10%, which can raise pay as high as 38 cpm. Owner operators will also see a mileage increase, taking pay up to 88 cpm for contractors with over six months experience in the company's Lease Purchase Program. Owner operators who bring their own truck will also be offered the choice of mileage pay or a percentage pay option of 70% (w/company trailer) or 77% (w/own trailer).

In addition to over-the-road mileage pay, the company also has a graduated stop-off pay scale, and they have increased both regular and weekend layover pay, as well as detention pay.
