I have a misdemeanor charge for assault on a government official 2 years ago and also have a careless driving 4 years ago. Who will hire me? I am a very good driver and I have all my endorsements. The careless driving was for hitting a electric don't walk sign I was turning right and just didn't swing wide enough. The assault on a gov. official I just touched a cop on the shoulder and that's it. No one will give me a chance and I have 7 year experience. When I go to get a job it is always one of those charges that stop them from hiring me and i don't know what to do. Please help!!!!

- every story is about the story teller, I know a few recruiters that would take the time to listen depending on how you delivered both those facts. 1) typically assault charges involve violence, and companies frown on hiring anyone with a violent paste; you need to explain this one IN DETAIL about the situation and why you touched the officers shoulder... the age ( 2 years ) also is hurting you, if it has been older they wouldn't care "why" and it wouldn't be an issue..

You can go to your local superior court and fill out some forms to have your record sealed. I have a assault 4 on my record and it was stopping me from getting jobs, so i called the court and thats what they told me to do. I did exactly what they said and went and talked to the judge and he sealed my record. so now when a company pulls my DAC or runs a criminal check, nothing comes up. You can try doing what I did. Good luck to ya...

I had no idea that any could just have their record sealed... i have to look into the; after the involuntary man-slaughter conviction and temporary psychosis conviction against a small party of teenagers on the lake, I found it really hard to find a job or return to my career in hockey. Crystal Lake was not very forgiving, and the camp councilors just couldn't take a joke... I was just cutting through the chase and going to the heart of the problem while having a bloody good time... ah, camp...

I am a recent graduate(09/15/2009) and am trying to find a company that will hire me. I have 1 speeding ticket going 10 mph over and my license got suspended a couple of times, both because I failed to pay a speeding ticket on time. I of course paid the tickets and my license was reinstated. Is there any companies that will look beyond my my semi dirty driving record? I would appreciate your input.
